Will Refund Anticipation Loans Exist in the Future?

Taxpayers who are due refunds are often in an awkward position. When you’re due a refund, it’s sometimes the refund that makes the difference between paying rent or fixing a car that month or going into debt. Often, when you need a refund, you need one fast. Because of this, since e-filing started, the IRS has allowed you to get a refund anticipation loan. But new regulations have a lot of taxpayers worried that RALs won’t be available to them starting in 2011.

Is this true? Or will those who need to take advantage of the program and get a refund anticipation loan still be able to get one in 2011? (more…)
